eBook Publishing Gone Wrong

Yeah, I’m going to go ahead and concede on one eBook that turned out to be a total disaster. It’s been a little over two years since I last published an eBook… and again, it was and remains horrible. I rushed this eBook to market without completing the vital step of market research and thus learned a TOUGH lesson about business success: the market DEMANDS and smart business owners and entrepreneurs LISTEN!

UNDERSTAND THE PAIN POINTS OF THE TARGET AUDIENCE

In creating the structure for this eBook, I made a very costly mistake that you need to avoid. Honestly, it’s the second time I’ve made it: instead of listening, watching, and understanding what the market wanted, I decided what I wanted to write about. BIG MISTAKE! A fundamental foundation of business success is providing products and / or services that the market ACTUALLY WANTS… not what I think they want. How do you go about accomplishing this? Here are several points of direction to keep you from avoiding this mistake and thus costing you precious time and resources:

  • Use free online resources to conduct market research such as Amazon, YouTube, online forums, Facebook Groups, magazines, newspapers, Google Keyword Tool
  • Select a market that’s robust with a mid to high level of competitive activity in addition to something that you’re passionate about
  • Set a firm deadline (a minimum of 3 days to no more than 5 days) for creating the eBook outline

Once you are confident in the market research that you conducted and the eBook outline that you’ve generated, then it’s time to further test. I recommend that you write a minimum of 3 articles (150 – 200 words an article) on the eBook topic and post to several e zine sites in addition to creating a YouTube video with a screen-cast of at least 5 slides about a section in the eBook. Now, sit back and wait a minimum of 5 days. On the 6th day, check and analyze the number of views generated for both the articles and YouTube video. Based on the results, either move forward and finish the eBook or revise based on comments provided. Another great testing tool is using Google AdWords.

OFFER RELEVANT AND VALUABLE SOLUTIONS

Another clear penalty that I’m guilty of in writing Business Loan Packaging Made Easy was that my communication of providing relevant and valuable solutions to pain points was not clear. This came as a result of the first BIG MISTAKE of not really knowing the pain points of the target audience. I guess you could say that I had ‘blinders’ on. I’ve read and witnessed that the best salespeople are those that not only understand the pain points of their clients, but also offer practical solutions that their products and / or services provide to help eliminate the client’s pain points. How do you go about creating and offering practical solutions to your client’s pain points? It all boils down to understanding the ‘need’ of your clients. Understanding takes time and effort, and that’s why it’s important for you to spend the necessary time investment doing market research.

Make Money With Ebooks – 4 Steps To Building A Six-Figure Ebook Business In The Next Year

If you want to learn how to start a lucrative eBook business online, then what I am about to reveal to you is the same strategy I’ve used to start one successful eBook business after another. The recipe for success below takes time and you cannot expect to make money overnight, but if you take what I’ve outlined and follow it through you will be able to become very successful with an eBook publishing business.

My four steps to building a six-figure eBook business online are:

1 – Start building an email list immediately

You need to start building a list of people who are interested in your products and your services. Create a free eBook that is 10-20 pages and offer it to people for free in exchange for their email address and name. Then, you have them in your database and you can start building your business from here. Simply work to get as many people on your list as possible, continually working this system.

2 – Find out what your subscribers need

After you’ve got someone on your list, put an automated email into your autoresponder asking them what they need help with. As more people respond to you, you will be able to create ebooks built around these problems. As time passes you should try to have ebooks to fill all of the major needs of your customers, and this is how you build your business.

3 – Create ebooks to help them meet their needs

The way you write your ebooks is ultimately up to you, where you can create shorter and cheaper ebooks and sell a lot of them, or build one larger eBook that commands a higher pricetag. The goal is to create a product that each new person coming onto your list will want to buy from you.

4 – Rinse and repeat while building the list

Take this and simply repeat the whole process over and over again. You can stay within the same niche and have many different products (sub-niches), or you can even do this process in as many niches as you would like, it is ultimately up to your ambition. The more ebooks you create using this strategy however the more money you will be able to earn over the long-run.

3 Reasons Why Writing an E-Book is Smart Marketing!

Recently, I was consulting with a client about his online marketing strategies. He was happy with his social networking efforts, but was interested in creating some passive income. What could he do to create both visibility and income? I told him to write an e-book! “What would an e-book do for me and for my business and how would I use it to raise my visibility?”, he asked.

Writing an electronic book, better known as an e-book, is a powerful tool to use for growing your business. E-books are a multipurpose vehicle as they can be used as a product for sale or a promotional item to be used as a give-away.

The three main reasons you should write an e-book are:

* Additional Streams of Income. E-books are one of the hottest and most lucrative “work from home” businesses on the Internet today! An interesting and sought after topic, with a catchy title, can go viral and bring in extra income while you sleep.

* Promotional Marketing. Using your e-books as a promotional product is an excellent way to introduce your potential clients to your products and services.

* Establish Yourself as an Expert. This is the most important reason you should be typing feverishly! An e-book can help you gain credibility and you become the go-to person in your industry.

So you see, writing an e-book can be used in many ways to blend in with your other marketing strategies. Take the time to not only write one, but multiple e-books which can be used for different situations and address various aspects of your business. Write some to sell and some to use for promotional purposes.

Ebook Profit Tips – 2 Golden Keys For Selling Ebooks Successfully Online

There are different aspects of the e-book business and not all of them might be beneficial for you. The fact of the matter is that different people are targeting different audiences with a variety of subjects. Hence, the writer selling e-books on Environmental Design will have to target a specific or niche audience while a writer trying to sell e-books on Treating Acne will have a different audience. Audience is extremely important because if you are not selling to the right customers then your e-book business will definitely hit a dead end in the long run.

You will need to identify your audience well before you actually start writing your e-book. Audience or probable customers can be categorized into different groups of segments like old-age customers, youth, children, customers in Asia, Africa or Middle East, European customers, industry specific customers like electronics, design, etc; and much more. Once you know who you are selling to, it will be easier for you to write for them.

The second most important aspect is having an automated selling system. Yes! Even in the cyber age there are many writers who prefer to sell manually. This can be time consuming and painful. It is considered to be an unfriendly customer experience and this can even make your e-book business suffer. When there are several payment gateways or payment service provider (PSP) available why take the chance? You can easily open merchant accounts and enjoy fast and secured payment transaction using an automated selling system and it will be easier for your customer too!

The bottom line is that the growth of your e-book business depends on what subject you are writing on and how streamlined your selling and transaction process is.
